What was used then?
Explore the slide show of objects from the past. Look at the images, read the descriptions and discuss.
Record

This round black vinyl record has circular lines on it. When you put it on a record player it goes around. The record player arm has a needle that goes onto the record and then you hear the music.
Camera

This old black camera is like a box. It is made from hard cardboard. It has three round windows at the front.
Ice chest

This is an old brown ice chest. It is made from wood. It has two doors at the front.
Lamps

These lamps have a rusty metal base and a glass top. Inside the bases of the lamps is kerosene. They both have flat wicks inside the glass that reach down into the kerosene. There is a little dial on the side of each one that you turn to make the wick go up or down. You light the wick with a match.
