Adverbs tell us more about a verb, an adjective or another adverb. They often end in ‘ly’.
See if you can find all of the adverbs in Layla’s description of the landscape she painted:
‘Tall, blue waves rolling quickly to the shore of the beach. Small scrub swaying slowly in the cool breeze. Swish, swish, swish. Large islands floating gently in the deep, clear water. Soft, white sand slowly burying foot prints.’
