Toys and games: Teacher notes
Through participating in these learning activities students will:
- share information about their favourite toy
- collect data and construct a graph
- develop acceptance of different perspectives
- view and discuss slide shows with audio and text about toys past and present
- construct inquiry questions
- work collaboratively in a think-pair-share situation
- use the visualisation comprehension strategy to interpret interviews
- compare toys from now and the past to develop an understanding of continuity and change through time
- suggest reasons why some materials used in the past are not used today
- construct a description of their favourite toy and share it
- interview a grandparent or older person.
