Through participating in these learning activities students will:

• share information about their favourite toy
• collect data and construct a graph
• develop acceptance of different perspectives
• view and discuss slide shows with audio and text about toys past and present
• construct inquiry questions
• work collaboratively in a think-pair-share situation
• use the visualisation comprehension strategy to interpret interviews
• compare toys from now and the past to develop an understanding of continuity and change through time
• suggest reasons why some materials used in the past are not used today
• construct a description of their favourite toy and share it
• interview a grandparent or older person.
